In this episode, I’m going to teach you how to know what type of career change you need to make.

What you will learn:

  1. The type of career change that is right for you.
  2. When to pivot by looking for opportunities that are within your industry.
  3. When to making a leap from a completely different career industry.

Pivot by looking for opportunities that’s within your industries

If you’re looking to pivot meaning stay within your current industry, but want to do something slightly different, it’s imperative to identify what’s working for you currently in terms of skill set. You don’t have to retrain to do something different, but I encourage you to get involved with projects whether solo or with another person. These projects will be outside your typical work scope and can lead to a potential match in your dream role.

Making a leap from a completely different career industry

There comes a time when we’ve had enough of the job we’ve been doing in the same industry for a number of years. When you make a leap to a completely different career industry like leaving law to become an architect, it might cause some fear. No one wants to go backwards, the goal is always to keep moving up, forward, and progress in lateral moves. So I leave you with this pro tip, be curious and start conducting informational interviews. If you’ve worked on side projects while working, start connecting with people on social media who closely align with the work you’re doing.
