In this episode, I discuss why you shouldn’t wait until it’s too late to make a career move.
I want you to have choices…
I see too many people waiting for the ‘right time’ to make a career move. And let me share with you – there is never a right time… only now.
If this is you, I would imagine it will take something big to be the catalyst for your change, perhaps redundancy or restructuring within your organisation.
The problem is, if you wait until then, there will be such a sense of urgency to you making a move that you’re not going to have the head space to consider what is going to be the best move for you.
You’ll end up looking for a role similar to what you’re doing already, something that’s easy for you to transition into, because you just need to find something.
The decision you make will be very different from the decision you’d make if you felt like you had time and options.
If you’re in a role now and you know you’re not happy, I encourage you to start taking action now.
There’s a whole process that needs to happen to take control of your career. It takes time.
I want to encourage you, if you’ve been putting things off, and you’re repeating on a daily basis ‘there must be more’, it’s probably time to spend full attention to what it is you want to be doing next.
It doesn’t always need to be a huge leap, it can be a slight shift, but you won’t realise what it is until you give it the time.
You do have control over this, so take control.
What you will learn:
- How two of my clients took control of their careers before they needed to
- Why it’s important to take action while you have choices
- Why making a career move takes time
How two of my clients took control of their careers before they needed to – I share two inspiring success stories from clients of mine, where both took action on making a career move before they actually needed to.
Why it’s important to take action while you have choices – I share the concept of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and why you need to be making decisions and taking action from a place of security.
Why making a career move takes time – If you rush this process, you will end up in a similar role to where you are now and it’s likely you will remain unfulfilled and unhappy. There are various stages to the process of making a career move, which I share with you.
